Since the shut down of the Tennessee Horse Council, county help across the state has been at an all time low. To try and jump start this back HHT has put the call out for people who are truly willing to help in the event of an emeregency in their region. This help could be transport, housing or just onsite help during an emergency or rescue. If you are willing to help, please go to the main page of the HHT website and click on the "STERN" button. This will direct you to an online application that will place your information into a database for future use. Hopefully you will never get called, but in the event of an emergency you may get contacted. We are only looking for people who are willing to work with other resources across the state. We do not have time to act as referees for people who can not put their personal problems aside and come together and work as a team. If you feel you would be a valuable asset to this team, please sign up. Please cross post to other boards. This is what networking is all about.

I registered for my area ( I assume it's good for me and Greg) but should I register for the other bordering areas? Or do you just KNOW?

I know that several members of One Horse would be willing to join. And in fact - that's our core mission - helping to facilitate rescues. Where do we sign up?

If you available to work counties in other regions, yes, please sign on to more then one. This database will come in handy when the need arises. PLease be sure to cross post. My goal is to have at least 25 contacts per. region before the end of the year.

If you ever need me to help in anyway, just pm me. I'll grab Diane and we'll do what we can.

caffeine has kicked in - found your webpage - you guys are AWESOME. looks like STERN is for TN counties - my group is spread out all over the country (and in Austria - our graphics genius!) How can we help you - please let us know. you can email either Gale or Me - probably the quickest way to get a response - as I said earlier - we don't have a lot of time for posting on other boards - although we check in from time to time.

Ava just emailed me and said some of you joined the team but used a post office box instead of a physical address. Could you go back and change that please by re-joining. Sorry. :-( She's the boss on this one.

well crap, never thought about it, makes sense though, who can get there quickest, since some of us are doing different districts it would make more sense to dispatch someone closer, like it would be closer for anmlfrm to get to strawplains and quicker for me to get to alpha and so on... off to re-register!

Ava said her optimum goal is to not only have each region with 25 people in each region, but to also have 1) a regional chair person. This person would oversee their region and be those peoples contact. 2) have a county chair person who oversee's their county and maybe their own crew under them. This way a "local" will know more about contacts and stuff in their area. Example - Need in Dickson county. I can't help easily being 3-4 hours away. But someone in that county would know contacts and the area in general. Something as simple as were the local feed store is can be very important.
