New to Tennessee Hi all,
My husband and I will be moving to the Knoxville area along with our 2 "boys", both thoroughbreds, in early July. Comet is a 9yo former race horse and Dasher is a 6yo. We'll be looking for a place to board them, hopefully with an indoor ring. We'll also be looking for a new vet.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I have to say how glad I am to have stumbled upon your site today (even though I'm at work  ) You have some great info and I'm loking forward to getting there and hopefully meeting some of you.

Which area of Knoxville?

Welcome to KnoxVegas! er I mean KNoxville! There are several barns in the area, not many with an indoor ring. Although the weather is usually mild enough to ride all year long.
I always recommend the barn where I board, Spitfire in New Market. It is outside of KNoxville, but it does have a covered ring, and another jump ring that is uncovered, and trails to ride as well. The barn manager is on this forum too, she's a wonderful person to care for your horse. If you want to know more you can pm me or CowboysKeeper (she's the manager at Spitfire).
But wherever you decide to board, we are happy to have you!

Thanks for the welcome. We're not sure where we're going to be permanently. For starters we'll be staying at a campground in our trailer. My husband will be working on E Weisgarber Road. We're looking at a couple of different campgrounds right now, one in Knoxville and one in Clinton.
As far as the need for the indoor, thanks for the info. We're originally from New England and right now we're in Minnesota. With the types of winters we're used to, that's why we were looking for an indoor ring.
A covered outdoor sounds great to me and I know Comet will like it better as well.
Equine-mom, not sure what you mean by KnoxVegas? Something I should?

lol! Just my joke, I love the Knoxville area. We have lots of outdoor spaces, plenty of places to eat out, or shop, and there are alot of horsey people around here too.
There are also many places to visit for "day trips" that are not much of a drive, which will be great with the gas prices now.
If you are from New England and Minnesota you will love our winters! We do get an occassional snowfall, but it usually is melted by afternoon. The winters are really mild.
WELCOME TO TENNESSEEEEEEEEEEE!
