Page ten doesn't work and who in the he11 butchered his feet like that? Sawing off so much? Look out short the front of the hoof is? Looks mighty close to the coffin bone to me. Poor horse.

Also look at the date on the xrays. A week after they "rescued" this animal! If they didn't have the $$ to help this horse immediately on pick up which they state is July 6th............... grrrrrr My question still remains though.....if you can't answer it RNA then please go and prey on another board. Did this horse come from a TENNESSEE owner in this condition?

RockNAcres- 07-18-2008

That was the date of the x rays. Doesn't mean he wasn't seen prier to that date. The horse was rescued. The horse was let to rest for a day so he would not get stressed out. He was seen by a vet and has been seen by a farrier. And again, you people always think about Money. We have money to take care of the animals we rescue. Geting help from people makes it easier to help those in need. Rescue should know this. So lay off about not having enough money to care for an animal. Thank you Also look at the date on the xrays. Where he was cut off was where the vet said to cut off. That was the safe area. As you can see from the xray. he doesn't have much of a coffin bone left. For all who is interested, The horse is doing better and is walking better as of today. Thank you Page ten doesn't work and who in the he11 butchered his feet like that? Sawing off so much? Why would you want to know if the horse came from Tennessee? All I can say is that he did come from the owner in this condition. All that matters the the horse was rescued from a bad situation and have been vetted and taken care of and is in good hands. Our rescue is working with the case to get the proper actions taken towards the owner. As more information comes to us, then it will be posted. We can not give information at this time regarding the case of the horse, ex:where he came from, who had him. etc. My question still remains though.....if you can't answer it RNA then please go and prey on another board. OMG! I cannot imagine putting a horse through the agony of that so called foot work! That looks like a sure way to mame a horse, is there anything left when the job was finished? I really think you should peddle your wares elsewhere.

tnpaintarab- 07-18-2008

OMG, this horse looks worse, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU RNA, I'll come and get this horse, where is it? (My husband is going to kill me.)

tnpaintarab- 07-18-2008

I am still sick to my stomach.

equine-mom- 07-18-2008

I know, it's sickening! How could someone do that to a horse that is already starving and dehydrated? To butcher it's feet and proclaim it to be "helping"? I have a new question for this "rescue". (and I use that term loosely) Why/what do you want from us? If you don't want money as you so often proclaim, although it is asked for quite clearly on your website, What kind of help do you want?

I am not standing up for RNA by any means, I have my own bones to pick with them but Cowboy's feet were almost like that and we had to do the same thing to him. They weren't quite as long but only by a few inches. When Dudley cut his toes off, they looked alot like that. The first two years with Cowboy were REALLY rough and he still isn't right. I saw on the x rays where the vet laid the nail to tell the farrier where to cut, the trimming should happen every couple of weeks to help shape the foot and try to get it to grow correctly now. It probably won't but I hope for the best for this horse. I agree that they should not come on this board asking for help but refusing to answer questions, I agree that they should not be rescuing but I don't think that we should be attacking those pics because they look bad. Getting an equine back from severe negligence is not a pretty thing and sometimes it takes extreme measures. We all wish that we had a magic wand to wave and make any pain or fear go away for these guys but the truth is that it is a hard road back and doesn't always end happily. I had a couple of years where Cowboy was sound to ride, those days are probably behind us now and that is sad and as he gets older his messed up coffin bones are gonna hurt him plenty but I did all I could and I will continue to do so. The secret between Cowboy and I is that he is the grumpiest horse on earth cause he is in so much pain. I know that but until they come up with a good pain management for horses, this is just how it has to be. We need to make sure that this case is being prosecuted, we need to make sure that RNA can handle the care of this animal and we need to make sure that this animal is truly in their care. Those are the important issues I believe. Thanks Stephanie

I just hope they aren't using this horse as a poster child, making it suffer so they can draw on the pity of unsuspecting people to garner donations. I do believe people can change and turn over a new leaf, but not using the tactics these people are. You don't dodge questions directly asked to you by repeating the same information over and over. You falsely claim on websites that you are a charitable organization when you are not. They claim they don't want money, but donation buttons are all over their site. That bothers the living h3xxors out of me.

equine-mom- 07-18-2008

I'm still trying to figure out why they came on here asking for help; but then denied they wanted money; then refuse to answer questions.
